Mein Weg ist anscheinend der Umweg, bevor ich mit 39 endlich mit dem Musikstudium begann, probierte ich so 20 Jahre lang alles Mögliche aus, Jobs, Ausbildungen, Ortsveränderungen, was auch immer.

• Ich war ein paar Jahre passionierter Hippie und Aussteigerin in meiner Heimatstadt Freiburg
• begann zwei Studien, erst Ägyptologie, dann an der PH Erdkunde und Geografie
• jobbte als Hostess auf Messen, als Wäscherin in einer Klinik, war Bardame in der Schweiz
• pflückte in Israel sechs Monate lang Orangen
• wanderte nach Kalifornien aus, kam nach einem Jahr wieder nach Hause
• arbeitete als Löterin und bestückte Leiterplatten in Freiburg
• lernte professionellen Jazztanz an einer Privatschule in Düsseldorf
• arbeitete als Datentypistin in Stuttgart
• machte zwei Jahre lang eine Ausbildung als Europasekretärin (Englisch, Französisch, Spanisch)
• war Geschäftsführerin in einem kleinen Laden für Mode- und Silberschmuck
• kaufte in Bali Schmuck für den Laden ein und wäre beinahe dort geblieben
• reiste durch Asien und Australien in meinem Sabbatjahr

Dann studierte ich vier Jahre lang Musik und machte eine dreijährige Stimmausbildung. 1999 machte ich mich als Gesangslehrerin selbständig. Musikerin zu werden hat mein Leben nicht einfacher gemacht, aber es ist selten langweilig, immer leidenschaftlich und fantasievoll. Was ich liebe ist, daß ich als Künstler niemals aufhören muss zu lernen.

Ich war für ein Kurt Weill Programm Regieassistentin bei den „Schönen der Nacht“ (Musiktheater) und machte verschiedene Weiterbildungen in Gesang, Tanz, Improvisation und 10 Jahre lang intensive Yoga Workshops.

2012 begann ich die vielen angefangenen Songs, Text- und Musikfragmente, die in Ordnern, Schubladen und auf dem PC herumlagen, in Form zu bringen und zu Ende zu schreiben. 2014 veröffentlichte ich als turn turQuoise meine Debut CD „StormBrides“.

Ende 2016 hatte ich Lust noch mal etwas anderes zu machen und stieß auf T-Shirts und Print-on-Demand-Shops. Auf der Suche nach einer geeigneten Nische entdeckte ich die Zentangle® Methode des Muster Zeichnens. Vier Monate lang zeichnete ich jeden Tag 1-3 Stunden meine Muster und lernte Neues über Schatten, Farbe, Form, Perspektive, Bildkomposition, 3Dimensionalität etc. Es hat mir bisher großen Spaß gemacht und ich habe entweder ein neues Hobby gefunden oder einen dritten Beruf. Am 1. April 2017 eröffnete ich meinen Partnershop bei Spreadshirt und bin seither offizielle Grafik Designerin (und entschuldige mich hiermit bei allen die diesen Beruf studiert und ordentlich gelernt haben - ich weiß meine Fähigkeiten sind beschränkt).

Ich zeichne weiterhin so oft es geht und übe meine Linien: geschwungene, gerade, eckige, schwarze, bunte, durchbrochene, kugelige… Dann zeichne ich die Muster für die T-Shirts, die werden eingescannt und im Fotoprogramm ein wenig bearbeitet. Danach lade ich sie in den Shop hoch und es kann bestellt und gedruckt werden - auf T-Shirts, Langarmshirts, Sweat- und Kapuzenshirts, Stofftaschen, Tassen, Kissen und Handyhüllen. Manchmal verwende ich auch Sprüche für ein Motiv, eigene oder Zitate, mit oder ohne Zeichnungen.

My way seems to be the detour, I finally started studying music at the age of 39. Before that for about 20 years I tried out all sorts of things: jobs, trainings, changes of location, whatever.

• For a few years I was a passionate hippie and dropout in my hometown Freiburg, Germany
• started several studies, first Egyptology, then Geography and English
• worked as a hostess at trade fairs, a laundress in a clinic, a barmaid in Switzerland
• picked oranges in Israel for six months
• emigrated to California, moved back home after a year
• worked as a solder in Freiburg, Germany
  
• learned professional jazz dance at a private school in Düsseldorf
• worked as a data typist in Stuttgart
• spent two years training to become a European secretary (English, French, Spanish)
  
• was managing director in a small shop for costume and silver jewelery
• bought jewelery for the shop in Bali and almost stayed there
  
• traveled through Asia and Australia in my sabbatical year

Then I studied music for four years and did a three-year vocal training. In 1999, I went freelance as a singing teacher. Becoming a musician has not made my life easier, but it is rarely boring, always passionate and imaginative. What I love is that as an artist I never have to stop learning.

I was assistant director for "Die Schönen der Nacht" (musical theatre) in a Kurt Weill program and did various trainings in singing, dance, improvisation and 10 years of intensive yoga workshops.

In 2012, I started to sort through the many lyrical and musical fragments that I found lying around in my folders, drawers and on my PC and began to complete the unfinished songs. In 2014, I released my debut CD "StormBrides" as turn turQuoise.

At the end of 2016, I fancied doing something completely different and came across t-shirts and print-on-demand shops. While searching for a fitting niche, I discovered the Zentangle® method of pattern drawing. For four months I practiced my patterns every day for 1-3 hours and learned new things about shadows, color, shape, perspective, image composition, three-dimensionality, etc. I had great fun so far and either found a new hobby or a third career. On April 1st, 2017, I opened my partner shop at Spreadshirt and since then I am officially a graphic designer (and I apologize sincerely to all who have studied properly for this career - I know my skills are limited).

I continue to draw as often as possible and practice my lines: swinging, straight, angular, black, colorful, broken, globular ... Then I’ll draw the patterns for the t-shirts, which will be scanned and slightly edited in a photo app. Then I'll upload them to the shop and they can be ordered and printed - on t-shirts, longsleeved shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, bags, cups, pillows and smartphone cases. Sometimes I’ll use sayings for a design, my own or quotes, either with drawings or on their own.
